Senior Process Engineer (Wastewater/Water Treatment)
We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Process Engineer who has specialized experience in wastewater/water treatment to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Process team which is responsible for developing process designs for oil & gas refineries, chemicals plants, sanitary/food and beverage plants, and distilleries – both at a high conceptual level and detailed design. C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients. Primarily, C&I serves the industries of oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.
Senior Process Engineer Responsibilities include:
- Develops process designs for process water treatment and wastewater treatment for chemical, refinery, and food/beverage plants.
- Performs a variety of computer-based modeling, design, engineering, and planning tasks on complex projects in industrial water treatment for wastewater, process water, boiler feedwater, and potable water.
- Modifies and creates flow sheet simulations to establish the heat & material balances
- Receives direction from Project Manager or Project Engineer.
- Develops engineering and design techniques, procedures, and criteria to solve unique and complex engineering problems.
- Communicates with internal and external stakeholders on project details.
- Collaborates on multi-discipline project teams.
- Create and develop PFDs, P&IDs, and provide input to equipment layout.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 6 years of related work experience, or a bachelor’s degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally to o?ces, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%
- Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
- Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
- Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
- Valid Driver’s License
Qualifications that set you apart:
- Professional Engineer License (beneficial, not required)
- Prior work experience in industrial plant water treatment, wastewater treatment/recycle plant design, water treatment operations, or quality control
- Construction experience in water/wastewater treatment
- Familiarity with plant water treatment for utility water, boiler feedwater, cooling tower water, and/or plant wastewater treatment (API separator, DAF/DNF, BWON Control, MBR, RO)
