Lift more light materials from atmospheric tower and recover more diesel
A Midwest refining company enlisted C&I to modify the internals of its atmospheric tower to produce more diesel and increase their ROI. This was done by removing trays 11-18 of the diesel section and replacing them with packing; removing trays 7-10 and replacing them with a packed AGO wash section in a reduced diameter
shroud; and upgrading trays 1-6 of the stripping section installed in a new reduced diameter shroud. We also installed a jumper and filter on the outlet of the AGO pump to ensure a clean packing wash. C&I provided process engineering and also partnered with Koch Glitsch on the project to take advantage of their tray design expertise.
