About the opportunity: Entry-Level Structural Engineer
We are currently seeking a full-time Entry-Level Structural Engineer to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Civil/Structural team, which is responsible for developing designs for structural layouts in facilities such as refineries, distilleries, and consumer packaging facilities. C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepares models, drawings, and design sketches using related documents from directions given by a more senior designer or engineer.
- Prepares computer analysis and calculations under the supervision of the responsible disciple engineer.
- Uses codes, standards, and procedures identified by more senior engineers and designers to guide the development of deliverables.
- The Structural Engineer uses vendor documents, coordination prints, surveys, and models to check dimensions, determine interface points, and determine physical space requirements.
- Goes to sites to participate in fieldwork.
- Reads and interprets models, drawings, and specifications prepared by other engineering departments.
- Uses software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program, or a bachelor’s degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Driver’s license.
- E.I.T is strongly encouraged.
