The MX-Nylon process is a liquid phase reaction that produces nylon polymer which is extruded, pelletized, dryed, classified, color sorted, and packed in Gaylord boxes or supersacks. The pellets are further processed through rotary cone reactors to produce a solid phase pellet with different characteristics than the liquid phase product. C&I developed equipment datasheets for all the process equipment including vessels, pumps, exchangers, blowers, fans, filters, vacuum pump, dust collectors, steam generators, hot oil heater, and air compressor. C&I also developed construction drawings for piping, equipment structure, equipment foundations, instrumentation, and powered equipment. The Yokogawa CS 3000 DCS was specified, configured, and started up by C&I personnel. Operator training on the DCS control system was also performed.
