This project provides proactive improvements to the refinery steam generation and water treating infrastructure. It eliminates a large recurring maintenance effort and provides NOx reductions. The scope is to replace existing boilers, providing a true steam utilities unit that is central to providing reliable steam for the refinery processes. Details include: installing four new balanced draft package boilers equipped with low NOx burners, and idle existing numbered boilers, demolish several existing boilers to provide plot space for the installation of two additional reverse osmosis water treatment trains, one new deaerator, and boiler feed water pumps, install approximately 1,250 feet of new steam piping to reduce high velocity interplant transfers predicted by our comprehensive high pressure steam hydraulic model, various support ancillaries required (e.g., control system, electrical supply, analyzers, etc.
