Second Point of Electrical Service

C&I designed a separate electrical service to the Refinery to support future expansions and provide reliability to the power distribution system. A new 128mV service, a 30mVA 128 kV to 13.8 kV transformer and switchgear building were installed. A 2.4 kV substation and Switchgear building was installed to replace obsolete equipment. Objectives: provide for an electrical feed for the refineries north side, retire obsolete switchgear in the unit, system design that facilitates future plant additions. Benefits; all plant cutovers performed with minimal disruption to operations, switchgear buildings were installed on piers to allow for future conduit runs, teamwork with our client and the electrical contractor allowed the project to be constructed, reviewed, and commissioned ahead of schedule.
