The objective of this project is to eliminate the atmospheric reliefs on various vessels within the refinery. The work consists of replacing selected atmospheric relief valves with balanced bellows valves, installing new relief valve outlet piping and unit sub-headers, and connecting existing sour water reliefs to the new header. Approximately 3,400 feet of free draining flare piping (20-30” diameter) was utilized. This was routed through two existing units and one new unit under construction. A new 240’ derrick supported flare, and new 70’ x 10’ diameter relief drum were incorporated as well.
