The process engineering included modifying Process Flow Diagram, P&IDs, Line Designation Tables and hydraulic analysis. Piping design included equipment arrangement drawings, isometrics, and pipe supports. The mechanical design included stress analysis, procurement of the heater, and construction packages.   The structural design included quick-cure concrete for the heater foundations, since the new heater had to be installed in the same location as the old heater during a short turnaround. Civil design included review of underground drawings, details of underground obstructions, drainage and oily water sewer modifications.

Instrumentation included burner upgrades from John Zink, triplicated bridgewall pressure transmitters, motor-operated stack damper, instrumentation for eight new burners including: fame scanners and relay panel, eight burner igniters and igniter panel,   common flame rod relay panel, the manual pilots were replaced with an electric ignition and John Zink flame rods, a Burner Management Panel with two light and a start pushbutton was installed at each burner.
