The primary purpose of this project is to lower the Sat Gas Plants’ butane and naphtha losses into the fuel gas system. In the previous phase, several alternate streams were evaluated as replacements to the current absorber lean oil. The result of these evaluations concluded that the best option is the use of the GDU Stabilizer bottoms naphtha stream as the new absorber lean oil. This heavier naphtha stream will decrease the losses of butane and naphtha, but at a cost of greater propane losses. Additionally, the PFS overhead stream will be processed in the Sat Gas Plants for debutanization. Reducing the butane and lighter content allows for increased natural gasoline direct blending during the summertime.
